Some Great Sore Feet Remedies - Things You Can Do at Home Without Paying Spa Prices
Sore feet remedies are needed by many people whether they are runners, avid walkers, and even those who wait tables. Sore feet can be a real pain, so is there a simple solution to help that? There are some simple remedies that you can use at home without having to fork our money for a foot doctor or even spa treatments.
Women are usually the ones podiatrists target for sore feet because they wear high heeled shoes, and women are often swayed by buying shoes that are “cute”, but very “uncomfortable”. Women were thrilled when Cole Haan came out with his “Air” heels, pumps and sandals offering Nike Air technology in a high heel. This shoe was a remedy in itself for sore feet because his idea was that wearing high heels should feel like a running shoe. In fact, Oprah Winfrey herself has struggled with sore feet since she was a child, and vows that the Cole Haan Air pump is the only shoe for her.
A simple sore feet remedy that you can do at home, is just soaking your feet. Soaking your feet in warm to hot water will make the aching begin to go away. After standing on your feet all day waiting tables, working in retail, or even walking or running on a regular basis can cause you to have foot pain. So, going home to warm foot soak can be helpful and relaxing at the same time. You can buy a plastic dishwashing pan really inexpensively since many people no longer have a use for them. Just fill it with warm to hot water according to your comfort level and put both feet in. You can even find foot soaking powders that will dissolve in the water and relax your feet while giving you some aromatherapy.
The best way to do a home soak for yourself, is to fill two basins of water. You will want one for warm water, and one for cold that way you can alternate between the two basins. You can soak your feet for fifteen minutes in the warm basin, then switch your feet over to the cold basin for another fifteen minutes.
Another simple sore feet remedy is to avoid wearing ill fitting shoes. If you know what you wear a wide width, but you opt for shoes with narrow toes then you will have sore feet. Wearing even a medium width shoe can make your feet sore, so it really isn’t advised. Buying shoes can be aggravating to those who have had trouble with sore feet in the past. It can also be frustrating for those who have high arches, calluses or other conditions. High arches make it hard to find a shoe that fits the top of the foot rather than the bottom of the foot. This can really make shopping for shoes hard because it’s hard to find a shoe with the proper balance of both. Calluses are painful and develop over time, but to find a dress shoe with good cushion is hard to do.
The simplest remedy of all for sore feet is to use a ball called a Super Pinky, which is about the size of a tennis ball but a lot softer. You can roll your foot over this ball to give yourself a simple foot massage, and work the whole area of the bottom of your foot. Massage therapist recommend this as a simple way to help relax your feet and release the muscles around the ball of your foot. This remedy is pretty simple and you can find these balls at any toy store. These remedies are all effective and you can use them for a lot less than you would pay at the spa.
